PRESCHOOL
SCA’s Preschool is a licensed child care centre for ages 3 to 5, and follows all regulations established under the Manitoba Child Care Association (MCCA). Our Preschool includes a structured preschool and Kindergarten Readiness program, located in SCA’s Elementary Campus at 595 Lagimodiere Blvd (Winnipeg), and has been established for over a decade.
ABOUT US
The Preschool has grown to offer 82 spaces and presently has 5 classrooms with full and part time options. Each room has a qualified teacher (3 Teachers x ECE III level, and 1 Teacher x ECE II level) along with additional support staff. We truly value our SCA families, and purpose to come alongside them to help educate their children. Our preschool program also works alongside SCA’s Student Services department enhancing opportunities for students with special needs. The purpose of this program is to better prepare our students as they enter Kindergarten and move further on to the primary grades in the school.
Our Preschool program helps children develop through Bible stories, social and emotional learning and a play-based approach. We incorporate specialty classes like Bible, French, Phys Ed and Music, and use a hands-on approach in Math and Science where the students learn by doing. We also teach the formation of the alphabet and holding pencils properly by using multi-sensory techniques.

Student drop-off and pick-up times are to be confirmed upon registration. Limited spots available from 7:30 to 8:30 am &. 4:00 to 5:30 pm.

Age 3 Early Developmental Education
Our preschool is committed to providing high quality, child-centred, play based learning activities for our students. They are taught social and academic principles through hands-on learning experiences in a safe, loving environment. Our staff are dedicated to partnering with parents to provide a consistent, nurturing environment for children of varying abilities. Each child is a gift from God, and we work with each child’s special abilities and encourage development in the areas of social, physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual/academic growth.
Our staff model appropriate behaviour and character showing respect for ourselves, one another, and our environment. We encourage the children to make choices based on their abilities, interests, and needs, both indoors and outdoors, from a variety of materials provided. We also teach new concepts, group stories, and lead children to participate in music and movement.
Age 4Kindergarten Readiness
Christian principles are integrated into hands-on learning experiences in a safe, loving and nurturing environment. We use nature inspired, play-based, and creative approaches in the classroom and embedded throughout the program, with a flexible mindset in tailoring instruction to a child’s specific needs, learning style and interests.
All students participating in this program experience success in school readiness. By the end of each school term, the pre-elementary students entering Kindergarten will have made significant gains in social, emotional, cognitive, and academic readiness as demonstrated on assessments.
BIBLICAL INTEGRATION
At SCA we believe that God should be part of our daily life. We teach daily Bible classes as well as integrate God’s Word into all subject areas. Our students are taught to practice Christ-like character to become wise and productive citizens, in order to live a Spirit Contemporary life in the real world.
CHAPEL
Every Thursday, Preschool participates in Chapel with Kindergarten to Grade 5, as well as helps facilitate a minimum of 1 chapel during the school year.
SCRIPTURE MEMORY
Starting in Preschool and all the way through to Grade 12, our students spend time memorizing scripture verses. We believe in the importance of memorizing and understanding God’s Word, imprinting his Word on our hearts.
OUTREACH + COMMUNITY
In order to teach the importance of a Christ-like world community, we fundraise and support sponsor children through the Watoto organization in Africa, as well as participate in SCA’s Toy and Food Drives for our Springs Church Inner City families.
